We are seeking a
Volcker Business Analyst / Risk Specialist
to join a
Global Markets risk organization
supporting a firm-wide
Volcker Compliance Program with one of our Global banking client .

This is an
operations-focused, process-intensive role
acting as part of the
first line of defense
within a large banking or capital markets environment.

The ideal candidate will have approximately
5 years of experience
(not senior-level), strong documentation skills, and hands-on experience executing and maintaining
repeatable control processes
in a regulated financial institution.

This is a
hybrid role requiring 3 days onsite per week
.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and maintain
    Volcker governance and control processes
    , ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation including
    Trading Desk Mandates
  • Review, update, and maintain
    procedure documents (SOPs)
    related to Volcker processes
  • Act as a
    Subject Matter Expert (SME)
    on the Volcker Rule and ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements
  • Review newly approved products to ensure appropriate Volcker scoping
  • Partner with business stakeholders to monitor changes in trading activity and assess potential
    Volcker implications
  • Support compliance related to
    Risk Mitigating Hedging (RMH)
    , including:
  • Documentation and analysis of hedging strategies
  • Assessment of hedging effectiveness using risk reporting tools
  • Quarterly reviews with senior management and Market Risk Management
  • Partner with Technology teams to support
    process improvement, automation, and control enhancements
  • Identify, manage, and escalate
    risks, issues, dependencies, and exceptions
  • Support regulatory exams, audits, and responses to regulator inquiries
  • Assist with Volcker hierarchy updates (desk splits, mergers, closures)
  • Participate in testing and validation of system enhancements and control designs
  • Partner with audit, compliance, and independent risk teams to ensure ongoing Volcker compliance

Required Qualifications

  • ~
    5 years of experience
    in risk, regulatory, operations, or business analysis roles within
    banking or capital markets
  • Strong experience executing
    process-driven, repeatable operational controls
  • Excellent
    written and verbal communication
    skills
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree required

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of or exposure to the
    Volcker Rule
  • Understanding of
    trading risk
    , market risk, or front-office trading processes
  • Experience supporting
    Global Markets / Trading desks
  • Exposure to regulatory initiatives or regulatory change programs
  • Familiarity with
    Risk Mitigating Hedging (RMH)
  • Proficiency in
    MS Office
  • Knowledge of large-bank internal systems is a plus
