CNC Operator

Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various CNC machinery, including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and press brake machines. This role requires proficiency in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge to produce high-quality precision parts. Candidates with experience in CAD, SolidWorks, welding, and warehouse operations will be highly valued. The successful applicant will contribute to our manufacturing processes by setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC equipment while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Duties

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM files to ensure accurate production.
• Takes inventory by checking stock to determine the amount available and anticipated stock.
• Set up CNC machines according to specifications and program requirements.
• Selects, aligns, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools and attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.
• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces.
• Identify and resolve mechanical issues and malfunctions.
• Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary.
• Starts and oversees machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations.
• Assist in training new machinists or apprentices, sharing expertise and best practices.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements.
• Documents actions by completing production logs in Genius System daily.
• Work closely with CNC Programmers to enhance processes and improve production efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine maintenance and quality inspections.
• Other duties relating to the position as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a CNC Operator is required.
• Effective troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of safe work practices and precautionary measures.
• Excellent mathematical skills.
• Excellent reasoning ability.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.
• Blueprint reading.
• Knowledge of quality control procedures using calipers and other measurement tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with attention to detail and safety compliance.
• Willing to work on the nightshift.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 – 60 per week
