Position Summary

The Ticket Sales Coordinator is a member of the Ticket Operations Team, responsible for ticket sales, supporting tourism sales fulfillment, and the execution of sales tactics for special Calgary Stampede events. By joining a world-class tourism brand, you'll collaborate across industry partners and visitor markets to ensure guests from every corner of the world experience the magic of the Calgary Stampede. This position also involves training and supervising ticket sellers and promoting the Stampede sales culture.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in development of sales tactics for the Stampede Rodeo and Evening Show.
  • Perform daily ticket sales, including providing customers with information on ticket sales and Park events, maintaining and monitoring all internal ticket holds and requests and managing invoices.
  • Train new ticket sellers on in-person and telephone sales, as required.
  • Promote the sales culture through training and on a daily basis with all new existing ticket agents.
  • Supervise staff and operations in the Ticket Office during the 10-day Stampede.
  • Administer all aspects of Travel Trade ticket orders, from invoicing to fulfillment, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform detailed sales reporting and data analysis to evaluate Travel Trade ticket performance and trends.
  • Managing inventory for OTA (online travel agency)
  • Perform the role of primary liaison with the Tourism Specialist
  • Provide ticketing support to year-around events as required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be proactive, optimistic, able to multitask and have good communication skills.

  • Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with the sales process.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Event Ticketing Software (Ticketmaster systems – HOST/Archtics or AXS) is an asset.
  • Experience serving the public and others, with superior customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in stressful public interactions.
  • The ability to lead and supervise in a fast-paced environment with interruptions.
