We are searching for a Chauffeur to join our Parkland Truro team based in Truro, Nova Scotia.

About the Opportunity

Transport residents to appointments or outings as per the transportation scheduleDemonstrate an understanding of the importance of respecting resident's rights, including: respecting others, maintaining confidentiality, promoting independence, respecting privacy, respecting the right to refuse services and involvementCommunicate with the Health Services Department if there is a noted change in the medical status of the resident e.g., increased confusionAid residents as required with: entering and exiting the vehicle, mobility aides/devices e.g. canes, walkers; carrying parcels or other items, opening doors and entering buildingsMaintain vehicles in peak operating condition and carry out all prescribed routine maintenance functions while maintaining accurate maintenance log recordsSchedule regular mechanical tune-up with authorized service shopCarries out all prescribed routine vehicle maintenance functions.Maintains accurate records of patient transportation and vehicle servicing e.g. records for gas, minor repairs, or servicing.Schedules regular mechanical tune-up with authorized service shop.Keeps all vehicles used for patient transportation services well maintained and clean.Cleans off snow or debris from Parkland or resident owned vehicles as required.Inspects workspace regularly for hazards.Assists with snow removal on walkways.Assists in the maintenance of our grounds and garden.Complete all duties in a way which is consistent with Shannex's Philosophy of Service: Your life. About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:

A high-school diploma or equivalent educationMinimum of 1 year working experience as a Chauffeur Transportation of Dangerous Goods training is requiredA clean driving record with a Class F Driver's license is requiredAbility to provide a clear Driver's abstractCurrent First Aid & CPR certification is requiredKnowledge of the federal, provincial and municipal safety and traffic laws and regulationsA passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.Additional duties as required
