Overview of the Role

Reporting to the Sport Development Director, the Sport Development Coordinator provides operational and administrative assistance to all SportNL programs and initiatives, to ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of identified programs and member satisfaction.

The Sport Development Coordinator will take the lead role in planning and executing core SportNL events such as the Annual Awards program, the Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the Scholarship reception and the Annual General Meeting. They will also provide support to the Sport Development Specialists with delivery of education and training events.

They are the main point of contact for all member questions and inquiries via phone or email. They will spend their time providing direct support and management to the member resource and services, managing the member application process and onboarding of new members, as well as direct administrative support to the Sport Development Director and Specialists as requested.

Ideal Candidate

  • Post-secondary education in business, administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in program coordination, event organization, office administration and support.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and multiple projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with computer software applications such as Microsoft Suite.
