SUMMARY  

The Director, Asset Management directs the Asset Management group within the Professional Services business unit.  Specific responsibilities include but not limited to: 

  • to be the organizational leader in the area of Asset Management 
  • supports Managing Director in the development of Asset Management product line business strategy, 
  • executes the Asset Management product line business strategy, 
  • participates in business development, 
  • achieves profitability targets, 
  • ensures service delivery, and 
  • manages client relationship for Asset Management Programs.

     


KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES  



People Leadership

Demonstrates strong, competent leadership for team members to guide them in reaching their full potential and meeting their objectives, which supports achievement of our corporate goals. Specifically, these responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Full involvement with recruiting talent
  • Provides mentoring, coaching and guidance to all team members
  • Objectively recommends compensation adjustments
  • Manages all aspects of performance

Product Line Strategy 

  • Supports the product line executive in the development of product line business strategy 
  • Executes product line business strategy 

Business Development 

  • Achieves business development targets 
  • Develops, recommends and executes business expansion plans 
  • Develops and qualifies business opportunities and develops and pursues opportunity pipeline 
  • Continuously engages clients in discussions to understand and anticipate needs. Identifies and recommends opportunities for additional businesses 
  • Collaborates with operations teams to identify opportunities for additional businesses 
  • Engages prospective clients for potential business opportunities 
  • Actively attends relevant events in order to establish market presence and contribute to brand awareness. Networks to maintain awareness of potential opportunities 
  • Collaborates with concerned parties on business pursuits. Provides subject matter expertise and input for proposals and RFP's. Participates in presentations for prospective clients 

Product Development 

  • Develops new innovative offerings and re-packages existing offerings to enhance business development success and to continually deliver value to clients 

Business Profitability 

  • Accountable for achieving profitability targets through business management excellence and business development 
  • Develops and implements strategies to ensure optimal business, financial, operations and risk management 

Client Relationship Management 

  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with clients. Position level of client representatives with whom this position interacts will include those at the management level to executive level 
  • Accountable for resolving issues, managing client expectations, and achieving client satisfaction

Service Delivery Management 

  • Accountable for delivering all client obligations and achieving operational and financial metrics 
  • Ensures the manner in which the work is delivered complies with all internal and external requirements


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS 

  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture or related field and 10 plus years of relevant job experience
  • Expert Knowledge of Asset Management and Capital Planning processes and software packages
  • Expert Foundational Knowledge to Building Systems and Components 
  • Provides technical subject matter expertise in the development and enhancement of capital planning reporting systems and tools
  • Collaborates with relevant concerned parties to continuously refine and implement asset assessment management processes and tools
  • Skilled at managing businesses units along with related experience
  • Financial management abilities along with financial acumen 
  • Skilled at securing new business opportunities 
  • Highly -skilled service delivery management abilities with proven record in achieving service delivery objectives and meeting client obligations 
  • Skilled at communicating with, negotiating, influencing and persuading others to achieve desired outcomes including with individuals at the senior management position level 
  • Skilled at building relationships with client representatives at the senior management level along with related experience 
  • Exceptional client service orientation 
  • Skilled at leading, engaging, motivating, managing, developing, attracting and retaining individuals 
  • Highly skilled at managing vendor performance 
  • Possesses a continuous improvement and quality mindset along with a very high desire to continuously seek and incorporate innovative practices 
  • Skilled at managing communication to satisfy the needs of and resolve issues with concerned parties 
  • Skilled at managing conflict and gaining concerned parties trust to foster good relations 
  • Understanding of ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards


Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation 

  •  Professional designation in Engineering, Architecture or related field 
  • Member of the Ontario Building Envelope Council or equivalent organization

     


This is a regular, full-time position with a salary range of $108,068 - $135,085 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate's competencies, including but not limited to experience, education and performance related to this role.
