This is an in-person position based at our Sexsmith facility. Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
The primary objective of the Payroll Administrator is to assist the Payroll Manager with collecting, verifying, and processing payroll information, determine pay and benefit entitlements for employees and subcontractors. As well as maintaining accurate payroll records, and providing payroll information within a department, company, or other establishment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Laison with new employees, communicate essential information about the company, positions, various operations, and payroll. Provide technical assistance to new hires for setting up their hardware and software.
- Maintain and update employee information, such as records of employee attendance, leave and overtime to calculate pay and benefit entitlements, using Aimsio and Ceridan.
- Assist in preparation and verifying statements of earnings for employees, indicating gross and net salaries and deductions such as taxes, garnishments, insurance, and deductions.
- Assist in preparing, verifying, and processing all employee payroll related payments, including regular pay, benefit payments, special payments such as bonuses and vacation pay.
- Complete, verify and process forms and documentation for administration such as new hire packages, employee change forms, termination paperwork, and contractor rate amendment letters.
- Prepare payroll related filings and supporting documentation, such as year-end tax statements, T2200, Records of Employment and other statements.
- Provide information on payroll matters, benefit plans and any other employee matters.
- Assisting with period-end reports, including reconciling, identifying, and resolving payroll discrepancies.
- May be responsible for the development or implementation of payroll policies, procedures, or processes.
- Undertake other duties and special projects as required.
