Practice Delivery Leader

Our Cloud, Data, and AI practice is a high-growth area focused on delivering complex, enterprise-level digital and data transformations. We require an experienced Practice Delivery Leader to manage the execution and financial health of our project portfolio. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful, on-time, and on-budget delivery of our largest IT, data, and cloud-related engagements, driving resource efficiency, and maintaining high client satisfaction.

You will act as the orchestrator of execution, bridging strategic vision with operational reality across multiple concurrent projects.

Responsibilities

As a Practice Delivery Leader / Senior Program Manager, you will:

·       Project Delivery Oversight & Excellence:

o   Provide oversight for multiple, large-scale cloud migration, data platform build, and AI implementation projects.

o   Ensure all projects adhere to established delivery methodologies, quality standards, and risk management protocols.

o   Intervene as the escalation point to resolve complex project roadblocks related to technical issues, resource conflicts, or client expectations.

·       Financial Management & Accountability:

o   Manage the financial health of the practice portfolio, including tracking utilization, optimizing billing rates, and controlling engagement profitability.

o   Oversee project budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and change order management for projects under your purview.

·       Portfolio Health Tracking and Reporting:

o   Establish and maintain clear, objective metrics for tracking portfolio health (budget variance, schedule adherence, resource load).

o   Conduct regular executive-level reporting on project status, risks, financial performance, and practice capacity to leadership.

·       Resource Optimization and Allocation:

o   Work closely with practice leadership to manage resource demand and capacity planning for the Cloud, Data, and AI delivery team.

o   Optimize resource allocation across projects to maximize utilization and ensure the right skills are deployed at the right time.

·       Methodology and Standards Advancement:

o   Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes, utilizing best practices from PMP and Agile/Scrum frameworks.

Requirements

·       Extensive Delivery Experience (8+ Years): Proven experience leading and delivering multiple complex, large-scale IT, data, or cloud transformation projects (total contract value typically $1M+).

·       Project Management Certification: Must hold a current Project Management Professional (PMP) certificationfrom the Project Management Institute (PMI).

·       Cloud & Data Execution Acumen: Significant experience delivering projects utilizing at least two major public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) for data warehousing, cloud migration, or machine learning solutions.

·       Financial Oversight: Demonstrable success in financial project management, including budgeting, forecasting, managing burn rate, and achieving margin targets across a portfolio of projects.

·       Methodology Proficiency: Expert command of structured delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and relevant tooling.

·       Stakeholder Management: Exceptional ability to manage expectations and communicate complex delivery risks and status updates effectively to C-level clients and internal executives.

·       Team Leadership: Proven ability to mentor and manage Project Managers and Scrum Masters in a professional services environment.

Nice to have:

·       Cloud Certifications: Current certifications in a major public cloud platform, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Microsoft Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.

·       Experience managing data governance, strategy, or AI readiness projects.

·       Experience with portfolio management tools (e.g., Clarity, Planview).

Education

·       The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business, Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master's Degree or equivalent advanced degree is highly desirable.
