City Dispatcher / Load Booker – Trucking Operations

We are expanding our Ontario operations and are seeking a highly proactive City Dispatcher / Load Booker who excels at coordinating time- critical freight and optimizing driver routes. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in coordinating local loads and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Position Summary

The Dispatcher / Load Booker will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and booking local freight within Ontario. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and experience building relationships with customers and carriers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Book and schedule daily loads for local Ontario deliveries.
• Dispatch drivers, provide instructions, and monitor progress.
• Communicate with customers and brokers to secure freight.
• Manage and update load boards and transportation systems.
• Resolve service issues quickly and effectively.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company policies.
• Build strong relationships with drivers and external partners.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in dispatching or load booking (trucking / logistics preferred).
• Knowledge of Ontario routes and local freight market.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with load boards, dispatch software, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
• Team player with strong organizational skills.
