About the Role
The Materials Movement Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting LNG Canada's warehouse operations by ensuring the efficient movement, preservation, and readiness of materials. This position focuses on coordinating material handling activities, including picking, kitting, delivery, and repair processes, while maintaining accuracy and compliance with safety and quality standards. The Materials Movement Coordinator will work closely with the Warehouse service provider (Contractor), Integrated Activity Planners, Maintenance planners, Operations Maintenance Coordinator, Expeditors, Buyers and the Logistics Team to ensure safe, reliable services with respect to material/spares availability to support maintenance and production activities. The role works closely with the Procurement, Maintenance, and Operations teams to ensure timely material availability and supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. Acting as a key liaison between the warehouse and field operations, the Materials Movement Coordinator also assists in monitoring service provider performance and may step in as second-in-charge during Warehouse Manager absences.

You will use your expertise to:
- Support Maintenance Work Preparation: Assist in the safe and reliable preparation for maintenance activities by ensuring materials are staged and ready for execution.
- Support Warehouse System and Process: Support warehouse personnel in understanding LNGC processes, the use of LNGC systems and IT tools (SAP, VLM/Hanel Soft, RFID, MInventory, Toolhound). Act as a knowledgeable resource for troubleshooting and guidance.
- Manage Material Preservation: Monitor and support proper storage and maintenance of materials under Supply Chain custody to ensure preservation standards are met.
- Oversea Quality Inspection: Coordinate and assist with the quality inspection process for incoming and stored materials.
- Facilitate Picking, Kitting, and Delivery: Execute and monitor processes for picking, kitting, and delivering materials to meet LNG Canada operational needs.
- Provide visibility on material movement and requirements, ensuring alignment with Supply Chain capacity.
- Support Short-Term Planning: Work closely with Supply Chain Planning, Maintenance, and Operations teams to ensure timely arrival, kitting, and readiness of materials.
- Oversight of Cycle Counting: Work closely with the Warehouse to coordinate the performance of cycle counts to maintain stock accuracy and support KPI achievement.
- Participate in initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness of material movement and warehouse operations.
- Support Custody Transfer: Assist in the transition and formal custody transfer of materials from Contractors to LNGC.
- Coordinate Material Repairs: Work with the Inventory Analyst and the Maintenance teams to coordinate material repairs and return to inventory. Support the process for managing and tracking material repairs.
- Help identify and resolve issues related to material movement that could cause inefficiencies or increased costs.
- Participate in Emergency Response Preparedness: Maintain readiness for IMT roles, participate in drills, and complete required training.
- Conduct routine visits to the field (asset, vendor locations, offsite storage) to observe activities and maintain relationships.
- Support Procedure Development: Assist in analyzing and developing new operating procedures related to capacity planning, demand planning, and material movement.
- Promote inclusion and respect for individual differences in alignment with LNG Canada core values.
- Demonstrate safe work practices, participate in safety meetings/TBT, and report non-conforming conditions.
- Support Warehouse Manager: Act as second-in-charge for the Warehouse Manager when required, including operational and contractual oversight of the Warehouse Service Provider.
- Work with the Warehouse Service Provider to track performance and operational efficiency, including participation in shop floor reviews and Visual Management Board huddles.
- Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams to manage non-SAP materials effectively.
To be successful, you will have:
- To be a seasoned Materials Management professional with strong operational skills in Management of Supply Chains within the oil and gas industry.
- Experience at skill level to managing material movement and warehouse operations
- To be a highly capable superuser of supply chain systems including SAP Blueprint, mInventory, HanelSoft, and Other 3rd party Supply Chain software
- Experience in Oil and Gas Operations is preferred but not required.
- Intimate knowledge of day-to-day functions of a warehouse, including goods receipt, picking, kitting, dispatch, preservation
- Experience in capacity & resource planning
This role requires that you:
- Work Location: Kitimat, On-site
- Hours of Work: 8 hours (7:30am to 4pm)
- Role is production/maintenance critical that might require working extra hours. The role requires working collaboratively with and through a warehouse contractor with 20+ employees.
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)
- Live in the beautiful District of Stikine (Kitimat/Terrace).
