WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO

1. Golf Course Maintenance and Upgrades

  • Coordinate and assist with day-to-day maintenance activities to ensure the Grounds Department operates efficiently while consistently maintaining championship-level playing conditions.
  • Assist in overseeing nutrient programs, pesticide applications, irrigation system, cultural practices and more.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of the operating budget and five-year capital plan.
  • Assist in the coordination of golf course improvement projects.

2. Team Member Development

  • Assist in recruiting, coaching, training and supervising the Grounds Maintenance Team to optimum performance while ensuring their safety.
  • Develop and engage the Team with the GolfBC Manifesto.
  • Ensure the Team is scheduled effectively, and payroll completed on time.

3. Guest Experience

  • Maintain course conditions that exceed Guest expectations.
  • Ensure the Team is knowledgeable and able to answer Guest questions.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 1+ years of experience in, and a basic understanding of the golf course industry.
  • Experience with irrigation systems, water management, IPM, nutrient applications is an asset but not required.
  • Relevant education in Turfgrass Management or related field is an asset but not required.
  • Strong problem solving, decision making and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and English communication skills.
  • Familiarity with computers and able to keep up with changing technologies.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment on a set 5-day work week schedule including one weekend day.
  • Willing to work hands on alongside the Team as well as complete necessary admin tasks.
