Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Branch Operations Manager to lead and manage our Calgary trucking operations. This role is responsible for overseeing daily branch operations, driver and staff management, safety and regulatory compliance, customer relations, and supporting sales and business growth in the region.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, hands-on trucking operations experience in Canada, and a customer-focused mindset with the ability to drive operational efficiency and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Dispatch

  • Routing, and load execution
  • Ensure on-time pickups and deliveries across local and regional lanes
  • Coordinate with drivers, dispatch, customers, and head office to resolve operational issues
  • Monitor driver productivity, utilization, and performance

Driver & Staff Management

  • Recruit, onboard, and train drivers and operations personnel
  • Enforce company policies, performance standards, and safety expectations

Safety & Compliance (Canada / Alberta)

  • Ensure compliance with CVOR, NSC Standards, and Alberta transportation regulations
  • Manage accident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions
  • Conduct safety meetings and support audits and inspections

Fleet & Yard Management

  • Oversee fleet condition, maintenance scheduling, and repairs
  • Manage yard operations, equipment staging, and asset utilization
  • Control downtime and maintenance costs

Customer Relations

  • Act as the primary point of contact for key Calgary-area customers
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Handle service issues, claims, and escalations professionally
  • Conduct regular customer check-ins and performance reviews

Sales & Business Development Support

  • Support sales efforts by identifying new business opportunities
  • Assist with customer onboarding, lane development, and service launches
  • Participate in customer meetings and operational sales discussions
  • Support retention and growth of existing customer accounts

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in Canadian trucking or transportation operations
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or management role preferred
  • Experience managing drivers, dispatch, and fleet operations
  • Customer-facing and sales support experience is an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $44,127.86-$70,000.00 per year
