Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in preparing accurate project cost estimates, supporting project planning, and ensuring competitive pricing for our construction projects. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects within a dynamic construction environment, utilizing advanced estimating tools and techniques.

Duties

  • Develop comprehensive construction cost estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Utilize software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed bid proposals and manage project data efficiently.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to gather pricing information and negotiate terms to secure competitive bids.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs, pricing analysis, and risk assessments to ensure accuracy and profitability of estimates.
  • Assist in the development of project budgets, schedules, and resource planning.
  • Support project management teams throughout the bidding process and during project execution as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, material costs, labor rates, and market conditions affecting construction estimates.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of the construction process from inception to completion.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating or project management software.
  • Strong negotiation skills to effectively communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Excellent skills in project management, including organizing data, managing deadlines, and coordinating multiple bids simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of construction pricing strategies, labor costs, material costs, and market fluctuations.
  • Ability to interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications accurately.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
  • A background in construction or related field is preferred; relevant certifications or training are a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$45.00 per hour
