The Opportunity

The Credential Recognition Services Branch is seeking a proactive, dedicated, and supportive professional for a temporary Navigator position. Working in a complex environment that requires technical knowledge, problem-solving, and communication skills, the Navigator will provide advice and support to internationally trained professionals looking to become registered to work in Saskatchewan.

Reporting to the Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for internationally trained individuals seeking information, guidance, and support to become registered to work in Saskatchewan, including providing direct assistance by phone, email, and in person.
  • Provide personalized assistance to support professionals navigate licensure requirements to support them in becoming registered to work in their intended profession in the province.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding foreign qualification recognition and licensure processes.
  • Liaise between government ministries, regulatory bodies, assessment agencies, post-secondary institutions, etc., to gather and disseminate information; and
  • Collect data and information on labour mobility trends, registration practices, and licensure barriers to prepare reports and provide recommendations.

Success in this role demands:

  • Clear, concise communication, both verbally and in writing, and strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with both internal and external clients and stakeholders.
  • A proactive problem-solver who can identify innovative solutions to resolve complex issues.
  • A self-driven, proactive individual who is able to work independently to plan and organize a large volume of work to ensure deadlines, goals, and objectives are met;
  • Knowledge of key stakeholders, regulated occupations, licensure processes, foreign qualification assessment, and bridging programs.
  • A positive, supportive attitude, with the ability to calmly listen to and assess clients' inquiries and respond with options to support their needs, and
  • Consistent demonstration of the Government of Saskatchewan's Commitment to Excellence, including the values of Respect and Integrity, Serving Citizens, Excellence and Innovation, and acting as One Team.

Typically, the knowledge and experience required to achieve the above is obtained through completion of a bachelor's degree in public policy, social science, commerce/business, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
