General Manager – Gyutei Japanese BBQ (Oakville, ON)

Gyutei Japanese BBQ is a new 110-seat Japanese yakiniku (self-grill) restaurant located at Unit 235B, 240 Leighland Ave, Oakville, ON L6H 3H6. We are looking for an experienced Restaurant General Manager to take full responsibility for daily operations and help us build a strong, high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day restaurant operations (front and back of house).
  • Recruit, train, schedule and supervise staff.
  • Maintain high standards of guest service, cleanliness and food safety at all times.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, food and labour costs, and daily cash reconciliation.
  • Implement and improve SOPs for opening, closing and service.
  • Handle guest feedback and online reviews in a professional manner.
  • Work closely with the owner on budgeting, marketing and local promotions.
  • Support the opening of the restaurant and set up systems for long-term success.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience as a Restaurant Manager or General Manager in a full-service restaurant.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop a team.
  • Experience in high-volume dining; Asian BBQ / hotpot experience is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of food cost, labour cost and staff scheduling.
  • Hands-on, positive attitude and strong sense of responsibility.
  • Able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
