How you'll contribute

The General Labourer is all about helping customers – whether that's cleaning, servicing, loading and unloading equipment. It's important to really listen, respond quickly, and show you care.  We want every customer to have a good experience so we do our best to understand what they need and make sure they feel looked after. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the upkeep, maintenance, and safety of all areas of the work environment.
  • Daily equipment inspection and report any defects, damages, or malfunctions to the manager.
  • Load and unload trucks as needed.
  • Clean and wash equipment.
  • Possess excellent product knowledge and can effectively transfer this knowledge to customers. This includes explaining features and benefits, safe operating techniques, and promoting related accessories/products.
  • Ensure every customer is treated in a fair and consistent manner, resolving issues as they arise. 
  • Follow all paperwork and computer procedures related to the servicing of the equipment.
  • Maintain all inventory control documents to preserve the integrity of the Rental Management computer system.

Every Stephenson's employee has a duty to report any unsafe working conditions and ensuring that they and their co-workers at all levels of work are wearing their PPE and following our SOPs and policies.

What you bring to the table

  • Valid G-Class (ON)/Class 5 (AB) Driver's License with clean abstract preferred
  • Basic technical and troubleshooting skills are an asset.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to effectively deal with customers in person and on the phone.
  • Able to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
