We are currently looking for an energetic and results oriented individual to fill the position of Junior Purchaser. This is a key member of a winning team. The Purchaser & Material Planner reports to the Inventory Control Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work under Procurement & Inventory Control Manager
- Provide purchasing support to Procurement & Inventory Control Manager to create and process purchases following company procedures.
- Interacting with key manufacturing personnel for purchases relating to production (Including Kanban systems on some key consumables)
- Get pricing from multiple vendors to ensure we are paying competitive prices
- Perform cycle counts of various inventory and non-inventory items, to ensure levels match expectations
- Verify and review minimum inventory levels on key items under guidance of the Procurement & Inventory Control Manager
- Make necessary inventory adjustments upon management approval.
- Process purchases following company procedures
- Contact and follow-up with suppliers to make sure scheduled deliveries are maintained and address shortages or missed deliveries promptly
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels as material is consumed during production activities
- Assist in organizing and maintaining storage locations
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management
- Forklift license (training available)
What we are looking for:
Previous purchasing experience an asset, but we are willing to train the right person
- Exceptional written and verbal communication/documentation skills
- Self-motivated, detail oriented, and the ability to process confidential and/ or controlled information
- Proficient computers skills, including Microsoft Office – Word, Outlook and Excel
- Positive attitude, upbeat, enthusiastic individual with good people skills
- An individual interested in growing with the company
