About The Role
The Senior Data Analyst within the Credit Risk Analytics team plays a vital role in analyzing and managing the risk associated with the bank's Personal and Commercial credit portfolios. This position involves developing and refining risk analysis tools, performing complex data analyses, and supporting regulatory and business initiatives that impact credit quality. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team environment, engaging in diverse projects that influence strategic decision-making and risk management practices. The Senior Data Analyst will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, contribute to regulatory reporting, and propose enhancements to existing processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in analytics, data science, mathematics, quantitative finance, actuarial science, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within credit risk
• Proficiency in SQL, SAS, Power BI, and advanced Excel
• Experience handling large datasets and extracting actionable insights
• Strong analytical skills, rigor, and intellectual curiosity
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder presentations and reporting
• Ability to perform complex credit risk analyses on portfolio quality and performance

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in disclosure activities related to the quality of the Personal and Commercial portfolios by developing risk indicators and producing internal and external reports
• Conduct complex analyses to identify portfolio concentration and underperformance risks that could lead to potential losses
• Lead special projects addressing regulatory data requests from authorities such as OSFI, BoC, FCAC, and AMF, as well as initiatives aimed at business development impacting credit quality
• Make recommendations to enhance the quality and efficiency of risk analysis and information production processes
• Respond to ad hoc requests by providing relevant data and insights to support decision-making and regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with internal partners on outreach activities and special projects to foster a unified risk management approach
