The Opportunity

Join our Transportation group in Calgary, AB, where you'll contribute to the design and drafting of urban and rural roadways, including highways, laneways, neighbourhood renewal projects, and cycling/pedestrian facilities. You'll work alongside an established team of professionals and be mentored by senior WSP staff to ensure an effective, collaborative environment for your career progression.

This is a Permanent Full-Time position, primarily based in our downtown Calgary office.

Your Impact

• Deliver roadway design drawings and profiles using AutoCAD and Civil 3D for highways, laneways, and active transportation projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet safety, sustainability, and constructability standards.
• Prepare design quantities, cost estimates, and provide technical input to support tendering processes.
• Conduct occasional site visits to verify design details and existing infrastructure conditions.
• Apply transportation engineering principles and standards to create solutions that enhance mobility and community connectivity.
• Support project documentation and contribute to quality assurance throughout the design process.

The Skills That Set You Apart

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a similar two-year programme.
• Registered or eligible for registration with ASET as a T.T. or C.E.T.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, with experience preparing roadway design drawings.
• Familiarity with TAC guidelines, Alberta Transportation standards, and municipal design requirements.
• Competence in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence and flexibility for occasional fieldwork.
• A mindset focused on learning, collaboration, and delivering work that matters to communities.

Compensation

• BC, AB, SK, NWT & NU: $66,700 – $88,400
• MB & ON: $60,900 – $83,800
• Atlantic Provinces & QC: $60,300 – $80,000
