Job Overview

Speed Jet Supply Chain Solution Inc. is a licensed Canadian customs brokerage providing import/export compliance, customs clearance, and logistics support to clients across Canada and the U.S. We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support our finance department and work closely with our customs operations team.

The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for financial recordkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliation of brokerage-related accounts, and assisting with billing and month-end duties. This role requires accuracy, strong analytical skills, and comfort working with customs-related financial data such as duties, GST, and brokerage fees.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Prepare and issue client invoices for customs brokerage services
  • Reconcile duty, GST, brokerage, and freight accounts
  • Assist with month-end close procedures and financial reporting
  • Review customs entries for billing accuracy
  • Maintain organized financial files and accounting records
  • Respond to client billing inquiries
  • Support the finance and customs operations teams as needed
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with customs and financial regulations

Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school required
  • Diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance (preferred)
  • 1–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (AP/AR)
  • Knowledge of customs brokerage, import/export, or freight forwarding is an asset
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks)
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
