Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heavy equipment and automotive repair, with a strong focus on diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems for cars as well as majorly in Tow trucks This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of diesel-powered machinery, including industrial machinery, and vehicle fleets. The Diesel Mechanic will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our fleet and equipment.
Duties
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, and tow truck hydraulic systems using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and alignment adjustments.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, and power tools.
- Maintain and repair industrial equipment and service vehicle fleets including tow trucks.
- Use hand tools and specialized equipment to troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently.
- Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Assist with assembly or disassembly of machinery during repairs or upgrades.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation and automotive repair.
- Dealership experience is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, suspension systems, and electrical diagnostics.
- Familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members regarding repairs or maintenance issues.
- Certifications related to automotive diagnostics or heavy equipment repair are a plus but not required. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse machinery in a dynamic environment where your mechanical expertise will be valued. The successful candidate will be committed to maintaining high standards of safety and quality in all aspects of their work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00-$50.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 44 per week
