The Master of Forensic Accounting (MFAcc) program is a 10-course program offered at the graduate level, primarily on a distance education basis, using a problem-based learning model supplemented by web- based sessions.  The Program currently has the following Sessional Instructional Assistant position available for the Winter term and invites applications from suitably qualified candidates who are not current University of Toronto students.  No late applications can be considered.

Course title: Money Laundering, Asset Tracing & Recovery, & International Aspects of Fraud (IFA1906H)
# of Positions:  2 (SIAs)

Dates of appointment:  January 28 – March 31, 2026

Description of Duties: Marking assignments and the examination in accordance with the marking guide developed in conjunction with the Instructor, and in accordance with the grading policies of the University of Toronto; consultation with the Director and Instructor as required.

Est. Total Required Hours:  40 hours (20 hours per SIA)
Rate:  $55.44 per hour
Enrolment:  18 students

Description of course:  This course will cover the recovery of proceeds of crime, the recovery of assets which have "disappeared", and the international aspects of fraud.  Specific topics will include: related regulatory and legal matters including use of Mareva injunctions, and Anton Piller and the Norwich Pharmacal orders; data gathering, tracing and recovery methods; bribery and corruption of foreign officials (FCPA); and avenues of recovery under criminal and civil processes including insurance claims, and the use of the Bankruptcy & Insolvency Act. 

Minimum qualifications: Professional Accounting Designation, Master in Forensic Accounting and Investigative & Forensic Accounting Experience preferred.
