Canada Remote Orium Full time
About Orium

Orium builds smart, modern commerce solutions that help enterprise brands move faster and stay ahead.

By bringing together AI, data, and composable systems, we create experiences designed for collaboration between people and intelligent agents— helping our clients work more efficiently, adapt quickly, and gain a long-term competitive edge.

With more composable launches than any firm in the Americas and deep expertise across commerce architecture, we partner with leading technology providers to deliver scalable solutions that evolve with our clients and accelerate time to value.

We blend systems thinking, data-driven design, and intelligent delivery, embedding AI and agents into our own teams to move faster, reduce friction, and co-create with greater precision. The result: adaptive, cross-channel experiences that keep our clients ahead of what's next.

About the Opportunity

Role Type: Contract – Maternity Leave Backfill

Contract Duration: Approx. 12 months

We're seeking an experienced Manager, Product Management to provide leadership and continuity for our Product Management team during a maternity leave period. This role focuses on day-to-day people leadership, delivery excellence, and hands-on contribution to client engagements, ensuring stability and consistent execution across active programs.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategic Delivery, you'll support a team of Product Managers, partner closely with Delivery, Design, and Technology leaders, and step into key client engagements as needed. This role is designed to maintain momentum and quality rather than drive major practice transformation.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to Product Managers across active engagements.
  • Conduct regular check-ins, provide ongoing feedback, and support performance management in alignment with existing frameworks.
  • Help team members prioritize work, navigate trade-offs, and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Support effective use of bench time for skill development and internal initiatives.
  • Partner with the Senior Director of Strategic Delivery and our People teams on any people-related escalations during the contract period.

Delivery Excellence & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Ensure Product Management delivery aligns with established Orium practices, tools, and ways of working.
  • Collaborate closely with Delivery, Design, Technology, Analytics, and Account teams to support high-quality outcomes.
  • Act as an escalation point for PM-related delivery risks, scope challenges, or client concerns; step in directly when required.
  • Promote proactive scope management, clear requirements, and strong stakeholder communication to protect project margins and delivery timelines.

Hands-On Product & Project Leadership (Billable)

  • Carry a billability target of approximately 60–70% (TBC), primarily through direct contribution to client engagements.
  • Support client work during critical phases, including consulting, discovery, definition, and recovery for at-risk projects.
  • Provide delivery oversight on assigned engagements, ensuring teams are set up for success and delivery remains on track.
  • Serve as a senior product partner to clients, bringing strong product judgment and practical execution experience.

Sales & Pre-Sales Support (Limited)

  • Support Sales and Technology teams as a Product Management SME during pre-sales or scoping activities, as needed.
  • Contribute to shaping engagement approaches and clarifying roles, scope, and expectations.
  • Share delivery learnings and insights with leadership to support continuous improvement.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Experienced Product Manager or Senior Product Manager with people management experience.
  • Strong delivery leadership in consulting, agency, or client-facing environments.
  • Comfortable balancing people leadership with hands-on product and delivery work.
  • Confident working in fast-moving, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Experience with digital product delivery and commerce platforms is an asset.
  • Experience with modern digital tools and an openness to integrating AI-powered solutions to enhance delivery quality and efficiency.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to critically evaluate AI-assisted decision-making and workflow automation.
Is the Role a Fit for You?

You'll find fulfillment in this role if you:

  • Enjoy leading and supporting Product Managers through active, complex delivery work.
  • Are comfortable stepping into client engagements to provide clarity, structure, and confidence.
  • Value stability, follow-through, and consistent execution over large-scale transformation.
  • Thrive in cross-functional environments and know how to balance delivery constraints with team wellbeing.
  • Approach AI as a practical tool to improve efficiency, clarity, and quality, without losing the human touch.
How We Use AI at Orium

Orium integrates AI thoughtfully across delivery—from research and synthesis to agentic development workflows. In this role, you'll help model its effective use to drive quality, efficiency, and innovation.

Compensation and Hiring Transparency
  • Expected Compensation (Canada): $120,000–$160,000 CAD annualized base salary. Orium lists this range in good faith, reflecting expected compensation for this role in the specified locations as of this posting. This range also reflects a contract role with a defined scope and duration, rather than a permanent practice leadership position. Final offers take into account education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, location, internal equity, and business needs. This range does not include benefits.
  • Use of AI in Hiring: To keep the process efficient and focused on human connection, we use AI-enabled, automated tools for tasks such as candidate communications and scheduling, interview note-taking, and summarizing feedback for hiring teams. Our recruiters and hiring managers review all information, and humans make every hiring decision.
  • Vacancy Status: This is a temporary contract role created to backfill an existing team member during maternity leave.
Performance and Growth Expectations

We emphasize accountability for outcomes, but autonomy in activities. Your work will be measured across a number of data points (peer, leader & project team feedback) and will also be measured on the basis of client and user satisfaction. Your growth path is in your hands— you'll have ongoing meetings with your leader to help determine your path, but your progress will be based on what you hope to achieve and how you choose to access the resources available to you.

Committed to an Inclusive Workplace

We are committed to fostering an inclusive and accessible environment as we build a workforce that reflects the diversity of the community in which we live, including those with disabilities. We are dedicated to providing accommodations in all parts of the hiring process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and the Ontario Human Rights Code. If you require any accommodation, we will work with you to meet your needs.

Committed to Social and Environmental Stewardship

Orium is committed to promoting and working towards a more socially and environmentally sustainable future. All employees are expected to make decisions and take actions in relation to their role and work that follow through on this commitment.
