About the Role

Our client, a leading integrated design and construction firm, is seeking a
Senior Electrical Engineer & Project Manager
to join their
Building Upgrades Team
in Vancouver. This is a key leadership opportunity for a technically strong, client-focused professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

You'll be responsible for leading electrical design and project delivery on a variety of
building upgrade, retrofit, and modernization projects
, helping improve the performance, efficiency, and longevity of existing facilities. The role blends technical expertise, project management, and client engagement, offering the chance to work on impactful projects across multiple sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the conceptual and detailed design of electrical building systems including power distribution, lighting, life safety, and communications.
  • Oversee project delivery, including design coordination, contract administration, and field reviews during construction.
  • Conduct assessments and condition reports on existing electrical systems and recommend upgrades.
  • Provide technical advisory services to clients on
    building upgrade and retrofit strategies
    .
  • Maintain strong client communication throughout project delivery and identify opportunities for ongoing work.
  • Mentor junior engineers and EITs, providing technical guidance and leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, including the Canadian Electrical Code and BC Building Code.
  • Participate in internal design reviews and quality assurance checks to uphold technical standards.

Qualifications

  • P.Eng.
    designation in Electrical Engineering (or eligible for registration with EGBC).
  • Minimum
    5+ years
    of professional experience in electrical building design.
  • Strong background in
    power distribution, lighting, life safety, and communications systems
    .
  • Experience preparing design drawings, specifications, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
  • Proven ability to manage
    multi-disciplinary project teams
    and maintain client relationships.
  • Working knowledge of
    Canadian Electrical Code, BC Building Code
    , and
    National Building Code of Canada
    .
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with
    building upgrades, retrofits, or energy-efficiency projects
    considered an asset.
