As our
Financial Controller
, you will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. You will play a key role in financial planning, cash flow management, and supporting our executive team with financial insights to drive strategic decision-making.

*The Role*

  • Oversee the company's financial operations, including accounting, reporting, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions (Canada, US, Europe, and Latin America).
  • Ensure compliance with ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises) and manage the preparation and consolidation of financial statements.
  • Develop and maintain financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Supervise tax compliance (VAT, sales tax, and corporate tax) and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors during the year-end audit/review process.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Monitor cash flow and implement best practices for working capital management.
  • Provide financial insights to senior leadership, supporting data-driven decision-making.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments at Planned to enhance, optimize, and streamline operational processes.

About You

  • 5+ years of experience in a Finance Department (Senior Accountant, Assistant Controller, Controller), preferably in a high-growth tech company, marketplace, or SaaS environment.
  • CPA designation (or equivalent) is required.
  • Strong knowledge of ASPE and experience managing financial operations with multiple entities (multi-currency consolidation).
  • Experience with financial reporting, tax compliance, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in financial systems, QuickBooks, and Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills. Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop teams.
  • Experience with fundraising, M&A, or investor relations is a plus.
