Role Description

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and Operations, this hands-on role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to building and scaling the company's finance and accounting function. The Junior Controller will support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives, playing a key role in strengthening the company's financial infrastructure and supporting continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and perform day-to-day accounts receivable and accounts payable activities, including invoice coding, payment runs, cash application, chargebacks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support month-end close and contribute to the preparation of accurate financial reporting.
  • Participate in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Prepare variance analyses and supporting commentary for monthly financial reports.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analyses to support management and strategic decision-making.
  • Support cash management activities and working capital optimization initiatives.
  • Produce reports to support performance monitoring and decision-making.
  • Implement and strengthen internal controls to ensure data integrity, safeguard assets, and support reliable financial reporting.
  • Contribute to the implementation, optimization, and effective use of financial systems and technology tools
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in support of the company's growth and evolving business needs.

Requirements

  • CPA designation is an asset.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Momentis or other ERP is an asset.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
