Position Summary:
The Area Supervisor, Patient Service Centres provides leadership and oversight for one or multiple site locations, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, exceptional client service, and compliance with corporate policies and procedures. In this role, you'll lead your team in delivering high-quality laboratory services, managing resources, and fostering a safe and supportive work environment. You'll also act as a key point of escalation for customer and employee concerns while driving operational excellence across your assigned sites.
What You'll Do:
- Lead, coach, and develop site teams to deliver outstanding customer service and high-quality laboratory operations.
- Oversee daily operations, including workflow management, staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Monitor key performance metrics (PWT, productivity, NPS) and conduct operational reviews to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Serve as the primary contact for escalated customer issues and complaints, investigating and implementing corrective actions.
- Support and participate in quality and accreditation activities (IQMH/DAP), including audits, checklists, and non-conforming event investigations.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, coaching, and employee development.
- Partner with HR and local Union representatives on employee relations, grievance investigations, and workplace issue resolution.
- Ensure occupational health and safety compliance, support return-to-work programs, and oversee incident investigations.
- Manage site resources, including materials, supplies, uniforms, and approved expenses, to maintain operational efficiency and cost control.
- Provide technical and operational support, including training delivery on safety, quality, and procedural processes.
- Prepare reports, participate in projects, and contribute to process improvements across assigned sites.
- Perform phlebotomy or other operational tasks as needed to support service delivery.
What You'll Bring:
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams and operational functions.
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education is an asset.
- Phlebotomy skills; experience in Home Care or data sort operations is a plus.
- Understanding of Patient Service Centre functions and administrative operations.
- Proven supervisory experience with strong coaching, team development, and performance management skills.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
