Speech Language Pathologist - Independent Contractor (Part time/Full time)

Job Description

As a community Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping clients achieve their optimal communication and/or safely manage their swallowing abilities. You'll work closely with patients in their homes, assessing their needs, developing personalized treatment plans, and providing therapeutic interventions. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing their quality of life and promoting overall well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing abilities.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
  • Provide evidence-based speech-language therapy interventions to improve clients' communication and swallowing skills.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, caregivers, and family members to ensure holistic care.
  • Educate clients and their families on communication strategies, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems, and safe swallowing techniques.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, progress, and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in Ontario.
  • Minimum of 12 months experience in home health or community-based settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach.
