Job Overview

Are you a passionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist, Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A), or a Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) looking to make a meaningful impact? GenieUs Communication, a specialized speech therapy clinic, is seeking a dedicated clinician to join our team on a part-time basis. Our clinic focuses on client care across the lifespan, with a major focus on orofacial myofunctional therapy and gender- affirming voice therapy, and providing client-centered care in a supportive and inclusive environment. We are looking for someone who is well versed in (and loves) supporting children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Position

  • Hours: Hours are dependent on the number of clients you would like to see
  • Location: At the moment, this job requires that you travel to the client's homes unless they prefer virtual therapy

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing treatment plans for clients [under the guidance of the SLP]
  • Conduct therapy sessions with clients in-person and/or virtually as appropriate
  • Provide home practice support, client education, and progress monitoring
  • Maintain accurate session notes and client records
  • Maintain updated knowledge on relative topics with consistent continuing education
  • Collaborate with the SLP and other professionals to ensure optimal client outcomes
  • Support client engagement and communication through creative and evidence-based strategies
  • Brainstorm treatments and review clients with the SLP
  • Provide a safe space for all clients
  • Assist with some administrative tasks such as calling through the waitlist

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) program or Communication Sciences and Disorders (SLP) program
  • Experience or interest in myofunctional therapy and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder is an asset (training can be provided)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse clients in an inclusive setting
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Comfortable with virtual therapy platforms and digital documentation
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to learn and do research to support treatment approaches
