Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic IT Solutions Specialist to serve as the technical lead at Simcotron SecureSolutions. In this pivotal role, you will help drive new business by engaging with prospective clients, architecting and developing our managed security services, overseeing vendor applications, and managing our technical solutions. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving real IT business challenges through smart technology solutions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with prospective customers to understand their needs, demonstrate our solutions, and help convert leads into new clients.
  • Stay current with emerging security threats, technologies, and best practices
  • Develop, and continuously improve our managed security services and product offerings.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for client onboarding, troubleshooting, and solution delivery
  • Implement, configure, and support solutions including firewalls, networking hardware, cloud services, and cybersecurity products
  • Collaborate with the sales team to design tailored IT solutions for SMB clients
  • Monitor, maintain, and improve customer environments—onsite or remotely
  • Document client infrastructure, procedures, and technical configurations
  • Oversee the evaluation, integration, and management of vendor security applications and third-party solutions.
  • Develop, document, and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with industry frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).

  • Ensure compliance with Canadian privacy and security regulations.

  • Qualifications and Experience

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in IT systems, networking, or technical support
  • Familiar with Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, cloud services (Azure, AWS), and network security fundamentals
  • Experience with solutions provided by Sophos, Fortinet, Ubiquiti, or similar solutions is a strong asset
  • Ability to translate tech talk into simple business language for clients
  • Strong troubleshooting, time management, and customer service mindset

  • Diploma or certificate in IT, networking, cybersecurity or related field (degree preferred but not required)

  • Bonus points for:

  • 3+ years' experience within an MSP, MSSP, or enterprise environment.
  • Previous client-facing or consulting experience
  • Exposure to compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS), understanding of security frameworks (NIST, ISO and other Canadian compliance requirements.
