Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of equipment and facilities through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. This role requires a strong background in electrical, mechanical, and facilities maintenance, with leadership qualities to supervise maintenance activities and support continuous improvement initiatives. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills in English and demonstrate a commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.

Duties (Job Responsibilities)

  • Ensure full compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform general mechanical repairs on production and industrial equipment.
  • Complete and update daily repair logs on the company server.
  • Address mechanical issues arising during production and prioritize repairs during production stoppages.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on mobile equipment.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on plant machinery and equipment.
  • Design, fabricate, and modify jigs, fixtures, and support tools as required.
  • Evaluate and determine the most effective repair, replacement, and maintenance practices.
  • Carry out other mechanical maintenance tasks as needed within the facility.

Requirements (Skills & Qualifications)

  • Previous experience working in a casting foundry, heavy industrial facility, or metal manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel generators, mechanical systems, and industrial equipment troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical repairs, maintenance, and equipment breakdown response.
  • Ability to operate or assist with CNC equipment, millwork machines, and precision fabrication tools.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tolerances, and part fabrication is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and support continuous production operations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose mechanical issues quickly.
  • Experience working in fast-paced manufacturing environments is considered an asset.
  • Ability to design or fabricate simple jigs, fixtures, or tooling is a plus.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety procedures.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week
