Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment, with exposure to various dental specialties including orthodontics and pediatrics. Prior experience with dental software is an asset. The position is suitable for individuals passionate about advancing their career in dental assisting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with infection control protocols
  • Assist the dentist during various procedures, including orthodontic and pediatric treatments
  • Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays)
  • Provide patient education on oral hygiene, post-treatment care, and preventive measures
  • Manage patient records using dental software
  • Ensure patient comfort and address their questions or concerns effectively
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment at all times
  • Support administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and updating patient information as a dental receptionist when needed

Skills

  • Proficiency in dental assisting techniques and knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience with dental software platforms is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with orthodontics procedures and pediatric dentistry practices
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including children in pediatrics cases
  • Knowledge of infection control standards and sterilization procedures
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a dental team in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior experience or training in dental receptionist duties is a plus
