Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Kitchener has an exciting new opportunity for a Production Control Co-op Student for the January 2026 to April 2026 term with the possibility of extension to January months total). The Production Control Co-op Student will support the Production Control Team with all functions of the execution stages of the production plan. They will work closely with manufacturing, operations, shipping, stores personnel, and the Master Scheduler to identify and mitigate bottleneck resources and to ensure the effective use of resources.
By preparing and providing up-to-date shop order priorities to the work centers, the Production Control team helps minimize WIP inventory and supports on-time completion of components and customer deliverables. To avoid delays due to MRB activities, the Production Control team works with the manufacturing engineers and quality team to amend and split shop orders as required.
Essential Responsibilities
- Document control; prepare and release shop orders, modify (split) orders when necessary, create receiving vouchers and release notes. Scanning all documents as required for traceability.
- Working with operations to ensure help prioritize ready lists (dispatch lists) for work centers and verifying that the ERP system is being updated correctly.
- Help focus PC team to resolve issues at bottleneck work centers. Analyze causes and make suggestions and implement viable solutions to improve flow/visibility in those areas (MRB/Triage)
- Work with Stores personnel to correct any issues with pick lists, trace identifiers, quantities, etc.
- Support the PC team in ensuring all orders are statused correctly within the ERP system. Work with operations to correct. Shopvue and help update Cincom where necessary.
- Develop and maintain templates and dashboards using Excel/Power Point; work instructions, FPS process, outside processing tracking for better visibility.
- Support systems enhancement and migration activities to implement new and better solutions in the MRP/ERP systems, ShopVue, etc.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Completion of High School Diploma
- Currently enrolled in relevant College/University Program. Business diploma or degree with a specialty in Supply Chain Management preferred.
- Proficient with MRP/ERP systems functionality
- Background knowledge in Excel and Access
- Analytical and detail-oriented
- Systems-oriented mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team player
