Freebird Market — South Etobicoke's globally inspired market and café — is seeking a friendly, energetic Front-of-House Café Associate to join our team. This is a part-time position with the potential to grow into a full-time role for the right candidate.

Freebird Market is a unique culinary destination offering fresh breads, pastries, salads, sandwiches, pizza, coffee, prepared meals, and globally inspired grocery items — all supported by our 8,000 sq. ft. scratch kitchen.

Our goal is to make great food approachable, inspiring, and enjoyable for everyone who walks through our doors.

What You'll Do

As a key member of our front-of-house team, you'll take on a variety of customer service and light food-handling responsibilities, including:

  • Accurately cashing out customers using our POS system
  • Serving salads from the salad bar
  • Warming sandwiches on the grill and heating pizzas in the oven
  • Assisting customers with product questions and orders
  • Preparing espresso-based drinks, coffee, matchas, and specialty beverages
  • Merchandising shelves and restocking as needed
  • Packaging food items and building boxes
  • Keeping the store clean, stocked, and organized throughout the day
  • Completing temperature checks and documenting end-of-day waste
  • Upholding all food safety and hygiene standards

What We're Looking For

  • Barista experience (required)
  • Smart Serve certification (required)
  • Experience in a café, market, or food service environment
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with a strong work ethic
  • Availability for part-time shifts, including weekends
