Responsibilities
- Familiarity with software enhancement cycles and business continuity planning
- Exposure to enterprise architecture and application rationalization strategies
- Aid internal users on various applications for working papers, bookkeeping (desktop and cloud products), tax preparation, and in house custom templates for financial statements
- Assess requests and determine root cause of issues
- Understand functionality from a user perspective of accounting products used for preparation of files and client deliverables
- Develop an understanding of all components of MNP's customized templates
- Identify and troubleshoot application problems leveraging your accounting and technology knowledge and communicate those to the development team
- Escalate enquires in a timely manner to the development team for fixes, or to internal subject matter experts for issues requiring clarification
- Contact third party vendors when appropriate to request more assistance or report issues with functionality
- Document resolutions and workarounds in the knowledge base
- Build trust with internal users by regularly demonstrating a high level of expertise and professionalism
- Develop a thorough understanding of MNP's services, businesses, and industry
- Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
Skills And Experience
- Post secondary education in accounting or at least 2 years of experience in a full cycle accounting role
- Experience using accounting software
- Comfortable working with help desk tools to track and manage support requests, and able to prioritize tasks based on urgency and follow-through
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and follows through on tasks with care and accuracy, ensuring timely and thoughtful support
- Communicates clearly and professionally with internal teams, showing empathy and a commitment to resolving issues effectively
- Adapts to changing priorities, takes ownership of responsibilities, and actively contributes to team learning and improvement
- Experience with business applications in accounting or assurance domains is an asset
- Written and verbal French and English language skills, due to frequent collaboration with English-speaking teams/clients across Canada and some client deliverables/regulatory reporting obligation are in English
