GTM Engineer

GTM Engineer
, you'll be working closely with our go-to-market team to provide technical support to our existing and prospective customers.

This role is a great fit for someone who is a seasoned software engineer but would prefer to work directly with customers than to only work on the product. You'll be working closely with sales, success, and support to help customers with anything that the GTM team can't handle themselves.

We are:

• Fully remote with no office
• 10 people, spread across 3 countries (US, Canada, Spain)
• Bootstrapped (no outside funding) and profitable
• 8 years in business

What you'll do
:

• Support engineering:
  Anything technical in nature that our support/success team members cannot handle directly.
• Sales engineering:
  Join customer calls to answer technical questions, review use cases, and help prospects understand how Canny fits into their stack.
• Implementation & integration support:
  Help customers with custom setups, API usage, SSO, data imports, and other technical configurations.
• Customer problem-solving:
  Investigate customer-reported issues, identify root causes, and provide clear solutions or workarounds.
• Feedback loop:
  Surface recurring customer pain points to Product and Engineering to help shape roadmap decisions.
• Automation:
  With any spare cycles, build tools that the GTM team and customers can use directly to free up more of your time.

Experience you have:

• Experience building and maintaining production web applications
• Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React
• Comfort working across the stack (frontend, backend, APIs, databases)
• Experience writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Strong written and verbal communication skills – you can explain technical concepts clearly
• A proactive, ownership-driven mindset – you see problems and fix them
• Context-switching skills – you thrive in an environment with a lot going on
• Ability to manage your time effectively and stay productive in a remote, async environment
• Previous SaaS experience is a plus

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base salary of $95,000 - $145,000 CAD
• Bonus program (8% of base salary, varies based on performance)
• Regular compensation reviews (conducted semi-annually)

Location:

• This role requires working North American hours to coordinate with the team. Our ideal candidate is located in Canada, and the role is budgeted for a Canadian hire. However, if you are in another location, we are open to hearing from you.
