Job Description

The Physiotherapist provides clinical rehabilitation services to inpatients, outpatients, and long-term care residents, supporting mobility, function, and overall quality of life. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources and contributes to safe, patient-centered care in inpatient, outpatient, and long-term care settings.

Operating in a full-time, non-union capacity, the position is based at Lady Minto Hospital (LMH) and Villa Minto LTC (VM). The Physiotherapist is licensed in Ontario and works within a multidisciplinary team to deliver care in acute, outpatient, and long-term care environments. Responsibilities include delegating tasks to and supervising the Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA) as deemed appropriate by the Physiotherapist, coordinating with internal and external providers, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation. Care delivery spans the bundled care program, acute care, complex continuing care, and ongoing resident support in the long-term care setting.

Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Physical Therapy (or equivalent)
  • Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • Rostered in oxygen titration preferred
  • French language skills preferred
  • Assistive Devices Program Authorizer status considered an asset
  • Ministry of Labour Worker Health & Safety Awareness Training Certificate
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check

Experience & Skills

  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Experience working with geriatric and cognitively impaired populations preferred
  • Knowledge of current rehabilitation modalities and best practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with patients, families, other professionals and interdisciplinary team members
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team
  • Familiarity with documentation requirements and patient safety standards
  • Proficiency with equipment related to physiotherapy and restorative care
  • Demonstrated commitment to health and safety, infection control, and patient well-being
