Building Systems (HVAC) Technician
to join our
Property and Support Services

Halifax, Nova Scotia.

About The Opportunity
- Completes Preventative Maintenance of Building Systems as per the schedule
- Supports the increase of overall equipment reliability with the goal to decrease energy consumption and maintenance costs.
- Conceptualizes, participates in the design, and implements building systems solutions.
- Provides review and commissioning support for new construction as required.
- Remains abreast of and applies advancing technology as applicable, initiating / facilitating changes to operations, maintenance and equipment procurement processes and functional activities.
- Provides technical analysis, develops alternatives (cost estimates, feasibility, specifications, and interpretation of requirements), and provides support for technical problem resolution and implementation on existing systems as well as on new systems being installed.
- Participates in sourcing and procurement of building systems equipment.
- Accountable for coaching, directing and training maintenance personnel across corporate divisions to support the organizational strategies and goals related to building systems.
- Ensures resident safety by following and applying all standard operational procedures, safe work practices and training provided.
About You
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
- Building Systems Technician (HVAC &R) with minimum of 3 years experience or minimum 4th Year Refrigeration Mechanic with HVAC experience or equivalent experience in any of those areas
- 3-5 years working with Building systems
- A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.
