Job Summary

The Payroll/Human Resources Intern will provide hands-on support to the HR and Payroll teams during the integration of Dayforce. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract position ideal for a recent graduate seeking practical experience in payroll, HR systems, and data management.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assist with the transfer, validation, and reconciliation of employee payroll and HR data into Dayforce
  • Perform detailed data audits to identify discrepancies, missing information, and inconsistencies
  • Support system testing by carefully reviewing payroll calculations, employee profiles, and reports for accuracy
  • Assist with data cleanup, formatting, and preparation prior to migration
  • Update and maintain employee information, including job data, compensation, and time and attendance records
  • Document processes, data checks, and corrections completed during the integration
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive payroll and employee data
  • Provide administrative support to the HR and Payroll teams as required during the implementation
  • Support additional HR or payroll-related tasks as assigned

Requirements and Skills

  • Recent graduate (within the last 12 months) of a post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Payroll, or a related field
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when working with data
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets and large datasets; Excel experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow processes, document work clearly, and verify accuracy
  • Interest in payroll, HR operations, and HRIS systems
  • Experience with Dayforce or other HRIS systems is an asset but not required

Working conditions

  • Hours of work may vary depending on business needs
  • Role requires extended periods of working at a computer
  • Role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers
  • Sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods may be required

Compensation & Benefits:
This position is a 6-month contract role with an hourly rate of $20.00 CAD per hour. As a contract position, it is not eligible for company benefits, RRSP matching.
