REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Enforcement Services
LOCATION: Initial Placement – Burford Administration Office  

Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Perform general duties of a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer to assist with day to day operations during the summer season.
  • Assist the Division with By-law Enforcement pertaining to the increased usage of facilities and parking.
  • Maintain public compliance of Municipal By-Laws via education, compliance and enforcement.
  • Assist with river access point inspections, dog licensing compliance, parking enforcement, watering restrictions, noise complaints and other duties as assigned.
  • Receive and document complaints.
Equipment student employee will be operating:
  • Microsoft Office (Including Word & Excel)
  • Portable Radio
  • Body worn camera
  • Motor vehicle
Knowledge/Skills Required:
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • General law enforcement knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Provincial Offence Act.
  • Ability to maintain clear, accurate records of work undertaken.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License and acceptable Driver's Abstract required.
  • Acceptable Vulnerable Sector Police Records check.
Education: Enrolled in a Law, Law Enforcement, Police Foundations or a related course. 

Duration:  May to August (35 hours/week - days, evenings & weekend work required)

You must be enrolled in a post-secondary Institution and returning to school in the fall in order to qualify for these positions, with the exception of completing a final co-op term.
