Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Alberta Motor Association Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

YOU love TELLING PEOPLE YOUR JOB IS FULL OF risk.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an Analyst, Enterprise Risk, to join our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team at the Association. In this role, you'll play a key role in strengthening our ERM Program, supporting the development of our Business Continuity Management (BCM) Program, and guiding the organization through risk, internal controls, and continuity strategies that keep us resilient.

Reporting to the Head of Risk Management, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to teams across AMA—translating complex concepts into practical recommendations, supporting risk assessments, and helping embed a strong risk culture throughout the organization. Your work will directly support strategic decision-making, safeguard AMA's operations, and ensure we continue delivering the high level of trust and value our members expect.

If you're curious, detail-oriented, and passionate about solving complex business challenges, this might be the perfect next step in your career.

A Place to Belong

AMA isn't just a workplace—it's a community. With over one million members and services spanning registries, roadside assistance, travel, insurance, and more, we are proudly rooted in Alberta and committed to helping people protect the things that matter most.

As part of our team, you'll enjoy:

  • Flexible health and wellness benefits ranging from $1000–$3000.

  • Employer-paid Retirement Savings Plan (5% contribution + 5% matching).

  • Discounts on AMA memberships, registry services, and driver education.

  • Unlimited access to learning tools and dedicated development time.

  • Paid time off including 3 weeks of vacation, a Me-Day, Volunteer Day, and optional vacation purchase.

Who You Are

  • A strong analytical thinker with exceptional attention to detail.

  • A natural problem-solver who can break down complex concepts into clear, actionable insights.

  • An independent worker with strong initiative, professionalism, and sound judgment.

  • A collaborator who can build relationships across teams and influence without authority.

  • Known for effective communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.

  • Adaptable, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Analyze complex issues by integrating technical expertise, business understanding, and data to identify risks and recommend practical solutions.

  • Research, evaluate, and apply best practices and emerging trends in Enterprise Risk Management, ensuring AMA remains aligned with industry standards.

  • Administer and support the ERM program, including tools, processes, reporting, and the facilitation of risk workshops and education sessions.

  • Provide technical analysis and subject matter expertise for key risk activities, assessments, and strategic decision-making.

  • Support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Business Continuity Management (BCM) program.

  • Advise leaders on business continuity needs, working collaboratively with stakeholders to implement, assess, and monitor continuity plans.

  • Facilitate BCM workshops and tabletop exercises to strengthen preparedness across the organization.

  • Translate organizational strategy into business requirements that guide risk and control decisions, leading cross-functional initiatives through influence.

  • Develop and enhance financial, statistical, and risk models while creating dashboards, analytic reports, and insights for senior leadership.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of ERM programs and processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop innovative solutions to organizational challenges.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Undergraduate degree in a related discipline such as Risk, Finance or Business.

  • Professional designation in relevant discipline (risk, accounting, business continuity, etc.). Minimum three years of experience in enterprise or operational risk management.

  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.

  • Strong data skills and the ability to interpret data relationships.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.

  • High integrity, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality.

Belonging Matters Here

AMA is committed to an inclusive, respectful, and accessible environment for all. If you require accommodation at any point during the hiring process, we're here to support you. Please contact and let us know how we can help.
