Responsibilities
- Working closely with host and program director to establish clear direction of daily content
- Identify the stories that matter most to Windsor-Essex and find a way to advance the story and/or approach it with a unique perspective
- Researching segment topics and provide the show host with all show prep material required
- Booking the best guests who can inform and entertain the audience
- Establishing relationships with media contacts related to the program (political, entertainment, etc.)
- Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of news and social issues that relate to our audience
- Ensure all show content is available on all available audio and social platforms.
- Working with host to record other production that is required
- Participate in on air banter during live show within guidelines & stipulations of the CA
- The selected candidate must be able to quickly switch priorities, multi-task, and get along with others
- Operate the board during live morning show weekdays
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Post secondary degree/diploma from a recognized Broadcast Program or equivalent experience
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Demonstrated creativity skills in engaging users
- Must be organized and able to handle multiple assignments
- Excellent interpersonal skills and has a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently or as a part of a team
- Strong computer skills and internet proficiency
- Highly motivated and with the ability to meet high production standards and tight deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast paced, customer focused environment
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
