About the Role

Our client in New Westminster is seeking an experienced
Desktop Support / Help Desk Specialist
to join their IT team on a 6-month contract. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical support professional who excels at troubleshooting, customer service, and supporting users across a wide range of systems and applications. You will be the primary point of contact for internal staff, ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality technical support via phone, email, and in person.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to:
  • Microsoft O365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams)
  • Active Directory
  • Network and system configurations
  • Various software applications
  • Utilize
    ServiceNow
    to document, track, and escalate tickets.
  • Follow and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Create and update knowledge-base articles for consistent support delivery.
  • Identify potential IT issues and escalate to prevent downtime.
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams on complex problems.
  • Maintain professionalism and deliver exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years
    of experience in a Help Desk or Desktop Support role.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across O365, Active Directory, and core IT systems
    .
  • Knowledge of IT service management (ITIL preferred)
    .
  • Hands-on experience with
    ServiceNow
    ticketing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
