The Agency

The Calgary John Howard Society (CJHS) is a charity that reduces crime and makes Calgary communities safer by helping youth and adults make positive changes and move away from criminal behaviour. We do this by addressing the root causes of crime through housing, education, employment programs and support so that individuals have alternatives to breaking the law. CJHS values diversity and inclusion and welcomes qualified applicants from all walks of life.

Position Overview

The Manager of Justice Transition Services provides operational leadership to a team supporting individuals reintegrating into the community after a period of incarceration. The Manager provides leadership in program coordination and accountability, overseeing administration, ensuring expenses are in alignment with approved budgets, managing data and outcomes, and supporting funder relations to ensure the delivery of high-quality, inclusive services across all programs.

Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Manager is an integral part of the Calgary John Howard Society (CJHS) leadership team, contributing to organizational strategy, collaboration, and continuous improvement across programs.

The ideal candidate is an experienced and compassionate leader who balances program management with a relational approach to leadership—cultivating trust, guiding growth, and empowering staff to support individuals reintegrating from custody and building stability in the community. They foster a collaborative and cohesive team culture that promotes innovation, shared purpose, and continuous learning.
