Job Title: Cybersecurity Engineer
Job Summary
The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining an organization's security infrastructure to protect networks, systems, and data from cyber threats. This role involves identifying vulnerabilities, deploying security tools, monitoring incidents, and ensuring compliance with security best practices and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain security systems such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint protection, and SIEM platforms.
- Monitor network and system activity for security breaches, anomalies, and suspicious behavior.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents by analyzing root causes, containing threats, and developing remediation plans.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify potential weaknesses.
- Implement and manage cloud and on-premise security controls (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to ensure secure system configurations and patch management.
- Perform risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Support identity and access management (IAM), multifactor authentication, and privilege access controls.
- Stay updated on the latest security trends, threats, and technologies.
- Document incident reports, security architecture, and compliance evidence.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in information security, network engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of network security principles, firewalls, VPNs, and encryption.
- Hands-on experience with security tools (e.g., Splunk, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Rapid7, Tenable).
- Proficiency with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and cloud security configurations.
- Familiarity with vulnerability management, incident response, and threat intelligence.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2, and PCI-DSS.
- Experience with scripting or automation tools (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $83,100.00-$135,000.00 per year
