Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Dishwasher to join our team at St. Jerome's University in Waterloo Ontario. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and ensuring the smooth operation of our food service establishment.

  • Ensure all cleaned items are properly dried and stored in their designated areas
  • Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area, including regular cleaning of machines and work surfaces
  • Assist in keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean and sanitary
  • Support kitchen staff by restocking clean dishes and utensils as needed
  • Unload and store deliveries in appropriate storage areas
  • Empty and clean trash receptacles regularly
  • Sweep and mop floors, paying special attention to spills and potential hazards
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and sanitation procedures
  • Assist with other kitchen tasks as assigned by the management team
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors promptly
Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds
  • Willingness to collaborate with kitchen staff and maintain a positive attitude
  • Basic understanding of kitchen sanitation and safety practices
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience is a plus, but not mandatory
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
