The Role

You will provide legal and administrative support to members of our tax and litigation legal team, contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the firm.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Manage client inquiries and act as a liaison between clients and lawyers when lawyers are unavailable
  • Monitor limitation periods and critical filing deadlines
  • Handle file management, including opening and closing files and maintaining CRM records
  • Prepare engagement letters and assist with drafting transaction documents, correspondence, organization charts, presentations, spreadsheets, and reports

Corporate / Tax Responsibilities

  • Complete online filings with the Corporate Registry, including incorporations, amendments, amalgamations, continuations, and dissolutions (CORES Level II or III preferred)
  • Conduct land titles and personal property searches and registrations
  • Perform online searches, including Corporate Searches, Land Titles, and NUANS
  • Register corporations for GST
  • Draft, review, and finalize corporate documents, reporting letters, and memoranda

The Ideal Candidate

  • Graduate of a recognized paralegal or legal assistant program
  • Minimum of 5 years of legal experience
  • CORES Level III considered an asset
  • Litigation experience is an asset but not required
  • Demonstrates strong file management skills (both physical and electronic)
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and document management software
  • Client-focused with a commitment to delivering exceptional service
  • A positive, driven self-starter who takes initiative
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Builds strong working relationships with lawyers, staff, and clients
  • Able to follow instructions with minimal supervision
  • Enthusiastic about continued career growth and professional development
