Program Director / Announcer - Grande Prairie, AB

Vista Radio is looking for a seasoned broadcaster to lead the programming team on our two stations in Grande Prairie. 

Are you a dynamic personality with a passion for local radio who can work with a great group of young broadcasters to bring entertaining and informative programming that connects with the great city of Grande Prairie? The ideal candidate is a compelling, quick thinker and a responsible community champion.

Responsibilities:

Develop and execute programming strategies that align with the stations' overall objectives and target audienceOversee and manage on-air talent, providing coaching and feedback as necessary to ensure the highest quality content and performanceCurate and select music, scheduling rotations and ensuring that programming is consistent with the station's brands and formatsManage and develop promotional campaign's and events to execute sponsorship opportunities and other revenue-generating initiativesMaintain a strong understanding of industry trends and developments , adapting programming and strategies as necessary to stay competitive and relevantCreate and manage the programming budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.Collaborate with other departments, including news, and production to ensure that programming is aligned with the station's overall objectivesAct as a spokesperson for the station, attending events and media appearances as necessary to promote the brand and engage with the audience.

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Program Director or similar role in a radio station Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience coaching and developing on air atalentDeep understanding of music programming and schedulingStrong understanding industry trends and developments, with a keen eye for emerging talent and opportunitiesExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with other departments and stakeholdersBudget management experience, with a strong understanding of financials and revenue generation Diploma in Broadcasting, Communications, or related field preferredAbility to work flexible ;hours, including nights and weekends as needed to attend events and meet programming needs
