Astellas Pharma Canada (APCA) is looking to fill vacant position –
Digital Product Management.
Description
The Digital Product Management chapter is growing to support strategic initiatives within Astellas. One such space is the Rx Pod within the HealthX Hub. This is home to the exploration, development, and delivery of patient facing Digital Health solutions for Astellas' pharmaceutical brands. This role involves leading or being a core member of a Value Team(s) as a Digital Product Manager, exploring and understanding business/brand/patient needs and opportunities, translating these into digital health product strategies and roadmaps, and leading exploration and development of solutions from early prototype to launch and post launch evolution. The Digital Product Manager will coordinate Value Team activities working closely with the Pod and Hub leadership teams as needed, delivering value for the brands and wider business, working within our agile methodology and development framework.
Essential Job Duties
As a member of the Digital Product Management chapter, although this role is expected to focus principally on Digital Health product initiatives, opportunities, and solutions, it is expected that the foundational and core skills of digital product management can be leveraged where appropriate and necessary to work as a core member of, or Value Team captain for, other Value Teams within DigitalX, as directed by the Digital Product Management Chapter Lead.
Some Of The Expected Core Responsibilities Are Outlined Below
- Explore, collate, and translate patient, brand, and business needs into Digital Health product opportunities and initiatives. Specifically, driving identification of Digital Health opportunities aligned to strategic brand objectives and unmet user needs.
- Manage stakeholder communications and help champion Digital Health product initiatives aligned to strategic and broader organizational objectives.
- For a given brand(s) or early asset(s), lead and own product strategy and road mapping activities for Digital Health product initiatives, aligning with brand objectives, business goals, and market needs.
- Lead a cross-functional value team(s) through the full digital product lifecycle - from landscaping, ideation, prototyping, development, testing, to launch and continuous improvement based on user feedback and performance metrics.
- Act as the voice of the customer, identifying user pain points and opportunities through research and feedback, and advocating for value creation through development/deployment of Digital Health products.
- Define clear product requirements, prioritize features, and manage agile development cycles, ensuring rapid iteration and progress, high-quality delivery, and strong alignment between brand stakeholders and technical teams.
- Monitor product performance, using analytics and user engagement data to drive continuous improvement, optimizing product iterations and output quality.
- Stay current with Digital Health advancements and industry trends to innovate and maintain competitive advantage in product opportunity mapping and strategic development considerations.
- Collaborate with legal, regulatory, compliance, privacy, and security, as appropriate, to ensure adherence to relevant regulations in pharma (GxP, HIPAA, GDPR, etc.).
This position may require travel domestically and/or internationally.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field or related experience.
- Minimum of 6 years related experience in Digital Product Management or related roles.
- Proven experience managing digital products end-to-end – from strategy and roadmap creation to development, launch, and optimization.
- Specific product management experience in Digital Health solutions, ideally with experience of working with and assessing the potential impact and value of Digital Health technologies and solutions for pharmaceutical companies.
- Skilled in developing product requirements and translating technical and non-technical information for diverse stakeholder groups, including senior leadership.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience in using project management tools.
- A genuine passion for providing value to users through digital product innovations. Must be driven to make a positive impact in the healthcare domain.
- Effective communicator with strong leadership, collaboration, organizational skills; comfortable working across global, cross-functional teams.
- Ability to tactically and proactively operate as a team leader and team member, ability to adapt to address challenges and unknowns with structure and an enthusiastic approach.
- Strong sense of ethics and responsibility, understanding the importance of prioritising patient safety, data privacy, and ethical considerations in all decisions.
Preferred
- Experience of working in a global organization.
- Strong understanding and experience of Agile working principles and practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Digital Health landscape, including industry level challenges and opportunities, regulatory environment and frameworks on a global and country specific level.
- Proven experience in leading teams and executing extensive strategic programs centred around digital solutions within large, complex, and heavily regulated organizations.

- This position is remote and is based in Canada.

Salary Range:
$110k - $160k CAD annually per year (final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to proficiency levels and organizational equity considerations)
- The salary range provided applies to Canada only and does not apply to any other locations outside of Canada.
