Job Description

Overall Responsible for the commercial success and customer satisfaction of all financial related matters within the Schulich Executive Learning Centre. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for overall accounting and financial operations of the Executive Learning Centre (ELC) A/R, A/P, G/L, Payroll,
  • Overall knowledge and understanding of Hotel Accommodation, Food and Beverage accounting including food quality, production, food ordering, receiving, menu design in all outlets
  • Manage food cost and labor cost to budget in conjunction with Executive Chef 
  •  Responsible for the management of all aspects of accounting including forecasts, cash handling, budgets, month end and year end P&L statements
  •  Work closely with General Manager, Director of Food Service, & Executive Chef regarding Costs, Labor forecasting and F&B Strategy.
  • Conduct training as needed and when required
  • Work closely with Aramark, Schulich School of Business and York University accounting departments
  • Fully understand Point of Sale (POS), OPERA Property Management System
  • Any and all other duties and responsibilities as needed and when required.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports for General Manager and Aramark, Schulich School of Business, and York University
  • Maintain client relationships for all financial reporting
Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in accounting related field 

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field 

  • Technical knowledge of accounting regulations, policies and procedures 

  • Professional accounting designation required

  • Strong computer skills including accounting databases, Excel and other software 

  • Ability to thoroughly analyze and research information 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
